As we wrap up Breast Cancer Awareness month, we wanted to take time to share some educational information regarding the disease.
Did you know 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime? To put that into perspective, that is at least one or two members of your family or friend group.
In 2021 alone there is estimated to be over 280,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer within the United States and over 49,000 new cases of non-invasive breast cancer.
On average, a woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer every 2 minutes, which equates to 720 women per day.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in American women, aside from skin cancer. It is estimated that in 2021, 30% of all new cancer diagnoses in women will be breast cancer.
This year, an estimated 43,600 women will die from breast cancer in the U.S., however, there are over 3.8 million breast cancer survivors in the United States, a number that will continue to increase with proper funding and research to prevent and treat this horrible disease.
